Boab posted this on MD1 and I think it's very good advice so I stole it for posting here too
1) Account sales are inherently risky and alot of players choose to do them outside of MD where we have no control. We can in no way guarantee you will not get scammed even if you use a 'middleman'. Having said that, we will ban stolen accounts without hesitation and can sometimes return stolen accounts but ONLY if there is evidence it was stolen. We do recommend the two parties find someone they agree on as 'middleman'. Staff are unlikely to agree to be 'middlemen'. The game in no way encourages accounts to be bought and sold.
2) You cannot advertise buying or selling accounts anywhere in MafiaDeath except in your name and on your player profile.
3) You MUST tell a staff member before you login to the new account. Usually FMs, GMs and me handle account sales. Ask whoever is online and does not seem busy. Tell us the ID numbers of the players involved and what is happening. For instance:
ID1 is buying ID2. ID3 is getting ID1's old account and ID3 is getting deleted.
4) After you have told a staff member and logged in, you have 24 hours to transfer whatever you want out of your old account.
After that 24 hours, as we have said before, your old account has to be either:
-deleted (change the name to something like 'DeleteMe' and put in a support ticket),
-given away (do it soon) or
-sold (change the name to something like 'ForSale' and put a contact link to your new account)
The account cannot be active while it is still yours. Do not login to it after the 24 hours.
5) Finally, you cannot buy up accounts using real money just to take everything out of them. That is called account scrapping and players have been banned for it. Basically, it is the same as buying MD stuff for real money but not from the game.
Makes sense? It is really quite painless as long as you have everything sorted out before telling us.
Just a final note, please make sure your MafiaDeath password is complicated and not on any other game or website. Make sure you write it down!
