You can't leave a gang when its in a war? What's up with that?
-
yes.
-
It's because the coders of this game do not understand how their systems are exploitable in more than one way.
They simply just can't fix this game
-
Thank you, Cap. Obvious.
Seriously though, why? -
Bunne, this is true^^
-
So... Can you still be kicked out of a gang during a war?
-
No leaving, no kicking...complete lock down
-
Basically they thought that the way to make wars fair is to lock the gangs when it starts. That way no one can bring in new accounts or remove all their bunnies afterwards.
However what they didn't stop to think is exactly how else a system with that amount of power could be exploited. Instead of giving us a pretty straight forward exploit that everyone and their mother can guess, they instead gave us a different exploit that is utilized to lock bunnies into other gangs member lists before a war starts. Then of course it's not a war because it's a system being exploited.
However, here is the best part. Using the war system to declare war on a gang (for points) so they cannot kick members is a direct exploitation of the system and is bannable/freezable. Using the war system to implant accounts with the sole purpose of using that account to rob another gang of their territories is "completely acceptable in accordance with the ToS" as I have been responded to with my inquiry.
Both of these actions are indeed exploitation of "bugs or glitches" as been previously outlined by staff members. Unfortunately I can't quote them, but I can summarize: 'The war system was never intended to be used as a way to keep players locked in their gang against their will' and 'The war system is intended to be as far as possible and is only supposed to be used as initially intended.'
So please, would someone like to tell me what the difference is between these two systems? You are knowingly and directly exploiting a system of the game (directly in violation of the ToS under rule 4 of bugs and glitches) but one is acceptable and the other is not? I mean can we get any more murky here?
Do I need to bring up the vault robbery drama that used to happen? How staff initially said that was okay because only a few people were doing it and it was "the gang leaders fault." Then it became cool for someone to steal the vault whenever they picked up co-leader or whatnot and the rule changed. I mean seriously, let's get some actual cut and dry rules so the staff aren't allowed to power trip over themselves on the daily.
Also, I have a rant about why staff members should be given no daily rewards, almost no extra power, unable to staff on your main server and many more on the effects of allowing someone to govern their main server. However, I don't expect anyone who has access to this game's code to have the intellectual ability to comprehend the reasoning behind it so I fully expect for this game to continue sucking until it fades from history. -
As do all games sooner or later. ~sigh~

But yet Bunnehsaur you keep logging in. Little known fact, Mafia Death is the longest running game of it's type. Any relevant suggestions, feel free to put them in the proper forum.

^^ Oh snaappp!

One of the reasons why I still play MD. It also has a cleaner designs to other games I play. I usually play other games to feed my MD account.

Ofcourse I'd imagine introduced the system so no new members can come in to help with the war once a request was sent.
But again this was something that worked in the mobsters benefit. Keeping them on their toes. Finding the right opportunity is always fun.

I find this stupid too..if ofcourse the gang in question sending the requests only has a few members.
I remember posting suggestions on this topic somewhere on MD. THERE MUST BE a limit to how many members a gang can have for owning territories or sending war requests.
Else I don't see why not..I mean even the other gang will be locked in. It doesn't just apply for one gang.
Note: Don't know if it has been fixed yet...

LOL this is indeed within TOS...deception has always been a part of MD. Many vaults were robbed out of points/money/items and none of them were refunded so it falls in that category I guess.
