Staff Applications

    G'day everyone,

    I'm going to put a couple of FMs on duty over here to help watch over the forums.

    So, if you're interested, all applications taken will be public (ie. via this thread) and anyone who mails me their application will be automatically discounted from being staff.

    If you would like to apply, please write a paragraph on why you think you'd be a good FM, and also include things such as Country/Timezone, Age, and how often you're online (be honest, I don't expect people to be on 18 hours a day).

    I'll be taking applications for the next few days, then I'll close the thread and do a new one when the staff have been selected.

    Please note that all staff positions are unpaid, so if you're wanting to be staff for free points or whatnot, you're out of luck, sorry!

    Hello, my name will be unknown in this post to protect my own privacy; I'm 19 years old and I live in Oregon USA GMT -8. I want to be a FM not only because I want to help the community and filter out useless/inappropriate threads and posts, but because I highly enjoy MD and want to be a part of it.

    I only sleep 5 hours a night, and I have my own business online. Realistically, I can be online about 15 hours a day; and as of right now I'm online about 10. Of course, real life influences affect my time online. Such as bad weather, or family emergencies.

    Nevertheless, I think anyone else applying also has those occurrences and I hope you take my application into consideraition.

    Hello my name is Scott. Im 19 will be turning 20 over the summer. Im on off and on all day, probably around 8-10 hours. East coast USA 1+ server time. I would be a good staff member because Im always lurking in the forums, and im well acquainted with forum rules.

    Us central time, on server time :delight: I just recently tunred 21. I'm online roughly 8 hours a day but most of that time is spent in the forums. Although I'm not a forum whore like some, i am browsing the forums a LOT. I don't see the point in posting pointless smileys or threads just to Dave up my post count.

    Since starting on md1 I have yet to miss a day of activity and although I'm not an old timer I have caught onto the game very quick. While sometimes being an old timer is good for friendships it also means that you have most likely created rivalries with some players. This isnt always a good thing when moderating forums or controlling a game. So if you want a fair unbiased moderator that is very active....

    I'd like to be staff.
    I know I'm not overly active on the au server because I don't have the determination to be a HOF here and MD2. I've FM'd on another, less active game for a little while, and really enjoyed it. I'm a nice guy, I like to talk. I'd be active as much as I am on MD2, which is at least 5, usually coming on 9 hours a weekday, and then usually 10+ one weekend day and 3+ the other.
    I think staffing would be a good experience and although I'd be a fair staff and do my job, I'd also know when to let small things slip and join in while having a joke.

    hmmm i don't know why i would like to be an fm...probably to feel power :haha:

    It's kinda hard to say how long I'm online for.. I check in throughout the day unless I'm really busy so realistically I'm on and actively playing for around 4 hours per day although I browse the forums considerably more...

    I think the way the forums have been going is actually rather good, considering they have been largely unmoderated, things have gone quite smoothly. The ideal FM would only be in place to "tidy up" and make sure the rules are adhered to.

    If I was selected for this role, I would like to try and keep up the activity in the forums, after years of playing MD I think I have seen enough activity generating techniques to know which ones work! :weh:

    I don't think I have the points or time to be a top player on this server, I am eager for MD to keep growing as a game and would like to spend my whole time making the game as interesting and approachable as possible. My activity in the forums hopefully reflects this :razz:

    Also, I'm 24 years old and living in Scotland, recently finished University so I have a ridiculous amount of free time on my hands right now :haha:

    About Me: Started out playing this game when there was only md1. I eventually went to md2 for a fresh start when it was created. I enjoyed the game greatly, made friends and enemies.

    Any Forum experience? If yes, then on what server or game?

    I was offered a GM position by poison who was an admin at the time. I took great pride in my job and helping the community as much as I could. however, as with many others, real life came calling, and calling hard. so i eventually sold my account and I moved on. however, I couldn't stay away too long. Now I'm back and looking for a fresh start on MDA.

    Why do you feel you're the best to fill this position?

    I believe that I am fair and unbiased as they come. I am a hard worker with prior experience and only want the best for the game and community.

    I first would like to say thanks for opening up FM positions To this brand new server.

    I am 21 years old and i been playing this game since december 2007, i have experience as staff on other games before and i know everything about this game to the heart and i know what belongs here and there. i am always in the forums and i know being an FM will fit me well.

    i live in the eastern time zone and i am very active, i am online for about 12 hours a day and thats not a joke. that is being honest.

    i have been waiting for 3 years to be staff on MD to bring the community some fun forum games and to give out random prizes with my staff points and to be a very generous and helpful staff member.

    I believe i would be a great FM because i would take being staff very serious and i will always be watching. i wouldn't put up with any racial and nonsense talk. i will always be here if a player needs me! I know i would be a great choice for the MD community.

    I think you will get enough quality applications here, but if you want an extra person or someone thats been around hit me up. Ive been lurkin here and will be in the forums anyways.
