    epictectus was a dick. He only believed in his intellectual superiority to everyone else because he could put down others who had different skills to him,
    You can't go around telling people who are athletic that they shouldn't be Olympians because it makes them a slave to their sport. no wonder he was banned from Rome..
    He was just a debbie downer that called everyone else enjoying life sheep.

    That’s cause you just want to hang around talking philosophy. You might have got on well with him.
    Want to buy a house? That makes you a slave to the mortgage company. Much better to sit under this bring with the interesting people who enjoy philosophy and have no slavish ambitions.
