Please note that this is only a guide and only covers the basics. There is much more to learn about MD and you can play it however you like. This is a guide to help you get started! A more extensive guide can be found HERE
Money and points
Money
Cash can be used to buy points, items, housing upgrades and much more. Basic ways to make money are covered later.
Points
Points make the MD world go round. You can use them to refill your
energy,
nerve and
awake bars.
Please note that there are TWO types of points with one difference between them.
Premium points – These can be sold to other players for cash via the
points market. People also accept these as currency for various rare items, payment for hits, protection payments and various other things.
Non-Premium points (aka ‘point dealer points’) – These can NOT be sold or transferred to other players. They can ONLY be used to refill your energy, nerve and awake bars
Bank
Once your ‘new player protection period’ expires you will be susceptible to be mugged. You can avoid this by storing your money in the bank – no one can touch money that you have stored in your bank and it can be expanded for a small price every 10 levels.
Making money
Dailies
There are activities that you can do each and every day that are profitable, you get reminders to do these every day on the
home page.
Crime
You can use your
nerve to perform crimes to gain money and EXP to gain levels. You can refill your nerve bar as well as choosing crimes on the
crime page. You can also use your
nerve to bust people out of prison, mug people and rob vaults. These also offer EXP and cash rewards. Mugging uses up a minimal amount of awake each time.
Awake percentage affects the success rates of all crimes. You can refill your awake bar at the
point shop.
Job
Clocking into a job offers a small amount of funding and stat increases, you can do this once a day at the
job center. You also get work experience each time you clock in, the more work EXP you get then the better job you can get. Better jobs bring better rewards!
Stats
Level
You gain levels by gaining experience points (EXP). You can gain EXP by performing various CRIMES and from attacking other mobsters. The attack system is covered in the next section.
Note: Each time you level up your maximum HP, energy and nerve all increase.
Battle stats
Your HP, strength, defence and speed all affect you in battles in their own way. These are covered more in the battle system section. You can increase your HP by gaining levels and you can increase your strength, defence and speed by using the
gym.
Gym
This is where you can increase your stats. Training requires
energy and your
awake is also drained each time you train, both of which can be refilled at the gym page. The amount of awake you have also determines how much stat you gain for each energy used.
Note: You can increase your awake and subsequently the maximum gain per train by bigger real estate and housing. You need money to do this!
Battle system
Mobsters fight one on one; to win you need to have the right stats to beat your opponent! Stats covering strength, defence and speed do not have to be spread equally to be effective and can be spread in different ways to suit your style of play.
Fights – this is a general guide.
1. Highest speed attacks first.
2. Defence counters strength and vica versa.
Example: Consider player A to have a higher speed than player B. If a player A’s strength is higher than player B’s defence then player A will win. If player A’s strength is lower than player B’s defence then the attack will be nullified and player B will be able to strike.
3. If both players’ defences are higher than the opponent’s strengths then a HP battle occurs. Generally, the player with the most HP wins.
The winner takes some of the opponent’s cash as well as gaining some EXP.
The loser gets 20minutes in hospital for their troubles.
Note: You can buy items to reduce this hospital time. They can be bought in the same way as described in the next section.
Stat bonuses
You can buy equipment at the
item market or from shops located in the
city. Weapons give a bonus to strength, armour give a bonus to defence and shoes give a bonus to speed.
NOTE: Different cities stock different items. You can buy items from the item market in any city as these are items being sold from player to player. Cities in which the different items can be found is outlined here.
You can also take drugs to give a temporary boost to your stats. Drugs last 25minutes and can be obtained in the same way as the equipment.
Travel
You can travel between cities via the
SPOILER http://md1.mafiadeath.com/travel.php. This requires money for each time you travel but this amount can be reduced greatly by buying a car. Cars can be bought from the
car dealership and can also be used in
races against other players.
