    then you should keep secondary 'ghost' hard drives or back up tapes.. that would solve youre problem as long as you back them up on a daily basis, takes about 15 minutes or so..
    I've installed a few of these for various doctors offices in case of data corruption or surges, etc...
    they're hard disks aka ghost drives that stores/replicates the same data on your original drive in case of something like this



    Saying mirror the database would of been quicker

    MD1 - crashed
    MD2 - running fine
    MD3 - lagging as hell
    MDE - crashed

    True...when our clinical server die they have auto-mirroring on failure with UPS to support the power need

    like back up surge protectors, the ones with the batteries built into the strip?

    Due to the data kept on them being that valuable we pay 10k for separate UPS which actually self-monitor servers to a certain degree

    Most of the data is now backed up on an enterprise solution(WAN) with a Fail-over(fall-over) system mirroring on the hour
