I was wondering what that was for.
But yeah, I mugged someone earlier with no problem.
-
I spied a gang and they had over 10 million and there vault was at 46%....
I have attempted to mug them 15 times....failed=13...prison=2.
What are determining factors for a gang vault robbery?
-
If their vault is at 46%, let's guess their maximum secure capacity is at 125million, then 46% of 125million is safe.
So anything under $57,500,000 is safe, if they only had 10million, then that's still entirely safe.
-
Is the maximum secure capacity based on gang level?
-
It's based on gang level, correct, higher the gang level, the higher the maximum secure capacity.
-
Any examples or lists....:
Like:
Level 1 gang @ 100% secure is 10 million
Level 10 gang @ 100% secure is 15 millin
Level 100 gang @ 100% secure is 50 million....etc...?
Just trying to really figure this out...I found a level 1 gang with 22 million and their vault is @ 56% so how would one calculate the "unsecured" money?
-
A level 1 gang can safely secure up to 100 mill.
If 56% is secured, that means they can safely secure upto 56mill. If they have 10 mill, then all of that is secure and anything else they happen to get, upto 56 mill.
Am I right?
-
Really....a level 1 gang can protect 100 million?
If so...numbers should have been reconsidered....just a thought.
-
Correct, it's 100mil maximum secure for a level 1 gang. Then at 10 level increments, the maximum secure amount is raised by 25mil, until the ceiling of 300mil secure.
-
Does the success ratio have anything to do with the number of members in your gang or the gang you're trying to rob?

Oh wait....

I concur David, I'm rather confused. We need a detailed explanation longer then a sentence or two please.

It's not confusing. If you find it confusing, its because you're trying to make the system more difficult than it is. However, for those of you who want a detailed explanation, here it is:
Every day a gangs vault security will decrease by 2% with a leader, or 3% without a leader. That percentage refers to the percentage of the vault that is secure, not the percentage of the money in the vault that you can mug.
So, if a gang has a vault that can only hold 100M, and their vault security is only at 50%, that means that their vault can safely hold 50M, not that you should be able to mug 50% of their 25M vault, since that would essentially mean you could rob any gangs vault until it was empty (think about it). If their vault holds any more than 50M, then whatever the amount is that sits above that threshold in their vault, becomes muggable. If they have 68 Million, and only 50M is secure, then 18 million is the amount that you as a player can mug.
Other than that, gang mugging is no different than regular mugging. If you have the nerve to do it, and you don't randomly get sent to prison, you should have no trouble robbing a vault. If you think you should be mugging a vault, and it continues to tell you that you're failing, this should be your clue that all of the money in the vault is safe.
Now, onto how you could mug a vault, that so far you've been failing with. Part of the problem is that the second gang vault robbing was unlocked, everyone on MD robbed every last vault down to the amount secure level. If you would like to get in on mugging these vaults, you should make sure you're on when the server updates, and all those gangs lose another 2 or 3% security, freeing up another chunk of cash. The other option you have, is exploiting the soft cap that plagues all gangs. What this means is that if a gang has items on the market, you can wait until their vault is close to full capacity, buy the items off the market which will force them over the gang vault limit, and subsequently allowing you to mug back some money.
