As much as i hate the points being so expensive there is an enormous gap between high levels and low/new ones...
This favours the low levels as they can buy points for cheap... -
I assure you... no where in the FMs job description is there a requirement to blindly agree with any change.
I have on a few occasions personally disliked changes and have said so publically, hoping to bring about future change.
The staff is allowed their own opinions. They might try to look a little deeper then some of you for WHY something is changed rather then a knee jerk reaction, even with looking for a deeper understanding they STILL are allowed their opinion.
cliffs: wrong. -
I understand the basic idea of the change. It basically evens everything out. Higher level players get more money from Dailies and Crimes, and now have to pay more by comparison for points.
But we're all aware this same result could have happened by cutting the price of points in half right? If anything, if you want new players to catch up faster, lower the cost of points (they're all dealer points so it's not like they're going anywhere). Then the money will equate to more points, so the active mobsters will benefit more, more training will be encouraged for everyone, and thus competition is a logical result.
The disparity is all over MD. People complaining about the gap are ridiculous. That gap exists because of credit cards and time, not the arbitrarily manipulated price of points that Dave sets. The majority of accounts are fine, and are more than capable of being competed with by an average user, but it's accounts like Weiners that make it seem impossible and drive this neurotic chase to "close the gap". I say this, being fully aware that I'm in a very average account. I can beat some players, I get dominated by some players. My account, and the majority of others, are not out of striking range for any new people, but the Gap people are fussing about is the top 3% of accounts like Weiners that have 16.5 times the totals stats I do. The only way to close that gap is to get rid of those accounts, which clearly isn't feasible. All this points garbage affects nothing except making points more sparse which is ridiculous since everything relies on them.

The simple fact is every player has a different reason for wanting to bring change or to oppose change. If you read the thread that catalyzed this change you would already come to this conclusion. Some people want to protect their current standing, some people want to handouts, some people are self-sacrificing humanitarians, some people feel entitled to things, some just like complaining, some people want to fix things, some people think they know how to fix things etc. Maybe the programming is really elementary but the compromises aren't. People will always find something to complain about.
My opinion is this change fixes a problem. But I also do feel that there are reasonable additions and subtractions that are move value added changes. -

Stop whining that you will NEVER make it to my level CoolHandLuke. Your reasoning and argument is based solely on the top 3 percent of accounts, which is a completely invalid and a biased opinion in regard to the changes made.

Shut the fuck up Weiner. I used you as an example, solely because you've worked your ass off to be the highest statted player in all of MD. You are the epitome of the 1%.
I'm not complaining about being a normal player, and I have no interest in being anywhere near your level. If that's what you got from reading my arguement, you should get your eyes checked because that's fucked.
If I said anything, its this. No change to the cost of points, regardless of how business savvy it might be, will close the gap between the highest and the lowest of players. The gap was created because of time and the use of a credit card. Players such as yourself support the game, they're necissary, but they also create the gap. So eliminating the gap will never happen without shutting down the game entirely. Now, put the crack away, go get an education, and come back when you're not being a douchebag.
I'm not in support of the current price, but I am in support of the logic behind the move. Please beg a woman to have sex with you, it would do the whole of MD a world of good...I'll throw in points if necissary.

Lets see. How to get to top hof level and stats. Buy several accounts, sell for in game pts, then repeat. Or just buy loads of pts with real cash or just be staff.
-
I say bring back the transferable pts for one price and dealer pts for another...that's the best plan I have seen since 15k transferable pts...
All this talk about its better for the noobs/it bridges the gap is BS in my opinion...I have serious doubts that there are more than a few truly new noobs a week or even a month...the only "noobs" this is helping bridge the gap for are the ones that sold their account took all the pts they had and started over...
There are new accts obviously but I would be very curious to see how many new IP addresses there are...
If your new and want to be competitive with everyone else, join a good gang. If its a good gang they will provide protection, teach you the ropes, and help you get your LPI. Then Put in the time and effort like the rest of us did and still do. Your already getting 50k more pts than I did by leveling...if you don't like that then buy an acct...thats by far the cheapest way to get to the top...or buy a ton of pts and do it yourself...option 3 buy a decent acct super cheap and then buy pts to make it better...
Regardless of anything this new idea sucks in my opinion...I spend more pts a day just using the refills than I will be able to replenish with the money I earn per day...so I will continue to play until my pts run out...then I will be done...I figure I have a few months left
Just my OPINION -
Not to be rude, but im tired of reading your posts.
-
Or just buy loads of pts with real cash or just be staff.
Really?
My staff points have no effect on what my stats are, they'd still be the same if I wasn't staff considering i give the majority of them away.
So go fuck yourself on that one. -

Well if you could be capable of constructive criticism, we could work together. Where it stands, you can't take criticism, and are already petitioning for Douchebag 2012. I'm not out to get you Weiner, I never have been, but I do have a well informed opinion that I'm not afraid to share. You can read or not read, but I won't be railroaded because you think I'm being cynical.

All the MD staff play one MD server or another, so those of you crying that we don't care about you as regular players can't be thinking clearly. If we encourage nothing but bad changes for you, and you eventually give up and leave, it leaves us nothing to staff, and in fact, nothing to play. I don't like being bored, and I think it's safe to say no one on staff woke up today saying to themselves: "Let's see how many players I can run out of MD today.
"
That just doesn't make sense. Sorry. If you really were so afraid of the change coming... as it obviously was, because the overwhelming response to that thread was positive... perhaps you should have been more vocal in your opposition while maintaining a sense of reason and illustrating why it was a bad idea. You didn't, because you wanted more available points, same as everyone else, and now the change is here, you're shocked that the price is adjusted. You want change? Go start another suggestion thread and rustle up some support.
