Dead Gangs and Vaults

  1. Dave @ 30 Sep 2011 01:39:45 AM
Take some fucking constructive criticism .. I would think that a game developer would actually appreciate feedback from its customer base and would look for ways to improve the game.

Obviously you aren't one to take what people say to action and change what people have a problem with to make the game better.

As soon as the criticism becomes constructive, it can be taken into account. As Nitro said, when people make up "facts" based on their own extremely limited observations.

I'm always one to take well thought out feedback on board, but when the only reasoning behind your feedback is "it becomes annoying," then it's not well thought out at all.

So far the only constructive criticism you've contributed to this thread is that it should be easier for people to use gangs as personal storage. You even agreed that if you can't get one other person to help you maintain your vault, it's pathetic and an annoyance.

Making you work as a team in a gang will make it more active. For anyone using a gang as personal storage, it now means you have to:
    1. Find someone willing to join
    2. Find someone who will do the vault repair every day
    3. Entice them to actually stay in your gang because it has little to no benefits to them being there otherwise
    4. If they leave, then you're back at step 1

If you can counter and explain why this feature will make the game as a whole LESS active, have at it in a logical way, then maybe someone will take you more seriously.

so dave, with all these tweaks, has activity kick back up? how long will it take?
  3. Dave @ 30 Sep 2011 03:32:10 AM
Activity has been and still is rising, yes. How long will it take to get to what point?
  4. Give away... @ 30 Sep 2011 07:34:46 AM
    lol i give up

dave you just keep your head in the sand
cause after reading that come back you really dont know where us complainers are coming from
i dont want change for changes sake
i want changes that improve the game
which maybe IF you took people more seriously you would explain better how your changes improve the game
but i swapped games the day you put up the price of points , that was the day TCF died

please forum ban me as i can never shut up :haha:

Face it, unless you spend, or have spent, lots of money on this game you are not allowed to voice any opinions, Paulie.

damn dave if they want it more active hence hossy count up i think i can get a few of the bigboys to start hitting everyone online then they can have something new to bitch about like being hit online

Sid, if there's truth to that statement, it's only because those people who have/do spend money, are the ones paying for the server fees.

The truth is that the majority of people who put forth arguements against the changes to the server, are putting forth inane arguments based only on emotions. New aspects of gameplay that annoy you, annoy you because they're new, not necessarily because they're terrible. The fact is that everyone has atleast 1 major quam with the new core. Hell, Nitro put all that effort into promoting a new housing system, but that hasn't been implemented either, and I think we can agree that he's put some money into the game.

The point though, is that if you, or Paulie, or Joe Shmoe has a complaint about the new core, atleast try to form a coherent response to the issue, and put forth some sort of alternative solution.

If the statement I made isn't coherent I don't know what to tell you CHL. And to my knowledge, I don't think I have complained about the changes to the server. And I think most people know the logistics behind nitro's house plan make it pretty much impossible to do.

In my opinion, this was a little harsh. The gang repair should have been implemented when the game had a lot more people online, but it doesn't really matter now. If Dave wanted to destroy one people gangs, he won.

As for min. stats, I think that should have only been implemented on a new server or very early on, like before bunnies existed. The effect of this addition now basically stops new players from getting anywhere. If bunnies never existed, I think the hof would range from 580 to maybe even 450 for obvious reasons. It's like MD was a race. The people playing now got a 2km headstart in a buggy and then the buggy was taken out.

As for non-p points, good idea.

Colour change was okay. Still not really asthetically pleasing, but I won't die. These ideas would have been good and as silly as this sounds, Dave would have done really well if he implemented these on a new server and with a (mainly) new audience. Just my thoughts.

Dave, quick question, wouldn't I want to keep one of my stats below the min. so that people don't hit me for exp?

md1 has gained over 5K new players since moving to the core, so keep saying there are no new people [/i]

I don't mean to be negative, but that's actually bad that we gained 5000 new players but 0 new active players. RM members has gone from 422 to 375 in under a month.

The top players are too far ahead for the lower players to catch up. :(
  14. Bad Romeo @ 28 Oct 2011 11:09:57 AM
at this point, only adding something to make the top players weaker could revive md in my opinion, but they are the ones keeping this server running sooo yeah..

only adding something to make the top players weaker could revive md

stats were scaled back, as well as hit power. taking stats away from the hardest working players in the game would be an insult, and the game would lose the top spenders.
